10 Video Games That Must Be Played On The Hardest Difficulty

1. Alien: Isolation - Nightmare Mode

The Last Of Us
Creative Assembly

Its manual saving system, violent androids and remorseless Xenomorph makes Alien: Isolation a demanding challenge for any and all players. And that’s what we all love about it! As a respectful and authentic recreation of Ridley Scott’s Alien masterpiece, Isolation perfectly mirrors the slow pacing from feeble and weak victim, to flamethrower wielding badass, only minus the cat.

Yet, while everyone thought Alien: Isolation was hard enough on Normal difficulty, the developers at Creative Assembly simply laughed, menacingly rubbed their hands together and gave the world Nightmare mode. An added bonus which makes the complaints about Normal and Hard mode look petty and weak.

Your Motion Tracker is less reliable, frequently blacking out and occasionally not telling you when an enemy is inches away, resulting in you having to rely on amazing headphones in order to properly exploit the sound and ambience when slowly navigating about the Sevastapol Station. You also get less gear and ammo, all maps are offline and, if you can believe it, the Working Joes and Xenamorph are even more precise and aggressive.

It’s cruel and punishing to get through, but, as the developers say, “[it’s the] ultimate Alien: Isolation experience”.
