10 Video Games That Reward You For Being Evil

3. This War Of Mine

This War Of Mine takes place in a bleak world where normal society has totally crumbled, tasking the player with caring for a hungry, cold, and sick group of civilians. To survive, you have to scavenge the surrounding dystopia for resources, which can then be used to craft tools, make food, or upgrade your shelter.

It's a "survival of the fittest" scenario where supplies are incredibly scarce, and as such, the game makes it really, really hard for you to play well with others.

In general, it's far more beneficial for you - and for your fellow survivors - if you're completely selfish when you encounter other NPCs out in the world. Sure, you could leave that nice old couple alone with their food stash, or, you could steal all of their belongings and bring them back to your own camp, where you can then feed your hungry allies.

It's not just food that's at stake either. Robbing NPCs - or killing them and looting their corpses - can reward you with medicine, ammo, body armour, and even weapons, all valuable tools that will aid your quest for survival.

Sure, your characters will take a morale hit if you consistently act like an evil douchebag - but at least they'll be miserable on a full stomach!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
