10 Video Games That Reward You For LYING
7. Pretend To Strike A Deal With The Caller For An Easy Fight - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Although it's rare, there are some instances in Skyrim when using persuasion can completely alter the course of a quest line.
In the case of the mission "Hitting the Books," a good liar can even finesse their way into getting the best outcome with the least amount of effort!
The quest in question requires you to reclaim the College of Winterhold's books that have been stolen by a former student, Orthorn.
Throughout the quest, you manage to find and free the runaway mage inside the necromancer's fortress he fled to, but as the two of you reach the final chamber, you are stopped by his captor, the Caller.
Although the woman is furious with you for killing her students, she offers to let you leave with the books if you let her keep Orthorn.
The game assumes that if you agree, you doom the mage, but in reality, you can simply lie about agreeing to the deal in order to turn the Caller passive⦠and then easily kill her with a sneak attack!
This will let you keep the books, Orthorn, and loot the Caller's magical components while also avoiding a pretty difficult boss fight.
You may not be in the Thieves' Guild, but lying is still a viable tactic!
