10 Video Games That Start Hard But Get A Lot Easier Later On

2. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Zelda Link To The Past
Bethesda

Morrowind begins quite simply, with the player starting off in the safe haven town of Seyda Neen. However, unlike later entires in the Elder Scrolls series, you couldn't really just decide to ignore the main quest and run off in a random direction, doing whatever you liked.

Even basic animal enemies were a real challenge to beat with a low level character, so it was imperative for players to do the first few quests and gather some gold to buy better equipment before they could really start to explore the environment.

However, as you progress in the game and start to level up, combat becomes a bit of a joke. You'll get exceptionally strong armour and you'll be dishing out major damage to every enemy you come across. Unlike Oblivion and Skyrim, Morrowind didn't feature a level-scaling system in which enemies get stronger as you rank up, meaning that high level characters can blast their way through large areas of the map without any issues.
