10 Video Games That Were ROBBED At The Game Awards 2018

9. No Man's Sky

Spider Man Game Awards
Hello Games

Who would ever have guessed this? Even a year ago, most people would have laughed at the idea of No Man's Sky winning any awards.

Following its legendary launch back in 2016, No Man's Sky has been continuously updated for free by developer Hello Games. The team has worked tirelessly on the game, adding-in vehicles, base-building, new textures, a third-person camera, deep underwater sections, character customisation, more missions, life-forms, a new UI, freighters, multiplayer, and more.

It's been a genuinely impressive turnaround, and Hello Games deserved some sort of recognition. The game was nominated for Best Ongoing Game, going up against Destiny 2, Overwatch, Rainbow Six: Siege, and, most crucially, Fortnite.

There was only ever going to be one winner in this category but was it fair?

Epic Games has done nothing short of perform miracles to turn Fortnite from forgotten multiplayer game to worldwide phenomenon, but truth be told, the developer kinda just hijacked another's concept and improved upon it. Meanwhile No Man's Sky underwent a hard-fought transformation that redeemed it from the depths of gamer purgatory, and made it worth playing.
