5. Dual-Screen Experience - Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes

While VR systems have been pretty impressive so far, the limitations of the technology have meant that developers haven't been able to rely on the old tried-and-tested genres they used to. Instead, they've had to come up with unique ways to use the technology, but Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes might just be the most obtuse use of virtual reality yet.

The multiplayer game seems pretty straightforward, tasking the player wearing the headset with defusing a bomb within a set amount of time. The catch is, they're completely helpless without the rest of their team, who are in charge of the instruction manual that's displayed on the TV.

Barking orders back and forth, the two different groups have to relay precise information to each other to make sure the defuser doesn't accidentally cut the wrong wire and blow everyone to (virtual) smithereens.

Obviously, while this is a good idea on paper, the problem in practice is that people are terrible under pressure. Instead of being a fun team-building experience, having to rely on other people only makes you want to throttle them when they're tripping over their words and giving you the wrong solutions to high-stakes problems.
