10 Video Games That Were Sold On Stupid Gameplay Gimmicks

6. You're A Mosquito - Mister Mosquito

Mister Mosquito has exactly one gameplay gimmick that it wants you to buy into, but the fact it wears it so proudly on its sleeve is actually a little charming. Essentially a stealth game, you're cast as the titular Mr. Mosquito and given a time limit to suck as much blood as you can from whatever human is in the room, stocking up on as much tasty fluid as you can for the oncoming winter.

Suck too hard for too long and you'll increase the victim's stress level and you'll be swatted away, so the best tactic is to keep switching up where on the body you take the blood from, which, as you can tell from the image above, often led to flying onto some compromising landing positions. It's very juvenile and very throwaway, but back in 2002, this was comedy gold.

It's essentially one of those shovelware Steam games that's fun for a couple of minutes and then makes you contemplate what you're doing with your life once it gets past a certain threshold, but that doesn't mean it's entirely without merit.
