10 Video Games That Were Too Damn Long - Commenter Edition

3. Immortals Fenyx Rising

Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Ubisoft

Immortals Fenyx Rising was one of 2020's most pleasantly surprising games - a Ubisoft bloat-fest collect-a-thon game that also boasted fun combat and neat puzzles.

It's just a shame it went on and on and on for a soul-draining 25 hours, long after your average player was ready to move on.

This is par the course for Ubisoft these days, in throwing so many Things To Do at the player that it's impossible to get through their games in a pacy manner.

Beyond flooding the map with icons, though, Immortals' repetitive boss-felling loop makes the padding feel especially blatant, as enjoyable as the core gameplay might be.

By the time you've made it to the end, you couldn't be blamed for wishing it was a svelte 12 hours instead, because Immortals simply doesn't have enough gameplay variety on offer to sustain dozens of hours.
