10 Video Games That Were Utter Embarrassments For Their Franchises
1. Sonic Boom
Sonic has had many ups and downs over the years. Where Mario consistently great games Sega always struggled what to do with Sonic. Luckily, when they got it right, the blue blur was a blast to play as. This however, is probably the worst it ever got.
Sonic Boom was doomed from the start, with its troubled development and broken promises to Nintendo. Running on a console that didn’t support its engine and bugs all over explains why Sonic Boom was one of the franchise’s lowest points. Bad controls, pointless redesigns and a repetitive gameplay loop didn’t help to boot.
The game was chopped and changed so much by higher ups at Sega that the already rough game just continued to get rougher. The game looked promising in its early stages but people could tell it was going to fail the later it got into development.
However, after this we did get Sonic Mania which was a much-needed return to the basics with its art and controls, going back to what people really liked about Sonic in the 90s.
Gotta get away from this as fast as possible.
