10 Video Games That Will Eventually Be Regarded As Masterpieces

4. Destiny

Destiny is certainly a game that has experienced more than its fair share of complaints and criticism, and yet has still managed to maintain a large and vibrant online community even as it reaches its second active year. If it's as bad as everybody says, then how are there still so many people playing it? Much was made of the simplicity and shortness of Destiny's initial campaign, but the people who judge it as such are largely doing so with the wrong yardstick. The single player elements of the game are designed to be secondary, almost serving as little more than the tutorials and practice grounds to prepare players for the competitive multiplayer arenas. And it's in this online environment that Destiny truly thrives. I have owned the game since its release, and despite never paying for one piece of additional DLC, I am remarkably impressed by how much the online environment has evolved in the first year. Say what you like about the regularity of its paid expansions, but know that these are far from essential to prolonging the game's life in your console.
