10 Video Games That Will Eventually Be Regarded As Masterpieces

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Getting the final instalment of a popular, machine-jumping series like The Witcher right was always going to be a tricky feat for CD Projekt RED. With Wild Hunt, however, they have managed to put together one of the most detailed and involving games of the 21st Century, and one that can easily appeal to longstanding fans and newcomers alike. Crucially - and commonly, these days - the game is built around a remarkably simple - but no-less entertaining - narrative. Outside of this main quest, however, there is also a plethora of different side quests, activities and random events for players to experience. After my first hundred hours playing through Geralt's final adventure I was astounded at how regularly new and exciting things kept appearing to me and at how the challenge constantly remained appropriate for my hero's level. The Witcher 3 is a game that truly evolves with its players, and it never really falls into the trap of making its feel too powerful or over-equipped. Its relatively unique fantasy story is perfect for the 'Game Of Thrones' generation as it also finds the same exciting blend of mythical intrigue and gruesome violence. It will never fail to be considered a huge success.
