4. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Since 2015, Capcom have released Mega Man Legacy Collections, containing the original ten games, the eight X titles, and the six Zero instalments. Despite the fact this treasure trove contains two dozen titles revolving around the Blue Bomber, we want more. For years, we've been impatiently waiting for Capcom to announce a compilation for the spin-off, Mega Man: Battle Network.

And this summer, fans of this RPG saga went into meltdown when Capcom announced a Legacy Collection, containing all six main Battle Network games will be released next year. But because fans are wearing their rose-tinted glasses, there's one factor about this anthology they are forgetting about.

The Battle Network series isn't great.

Don't get me wrong - they're not bad...at least, not in the traditional sense. The problem is the six instalments barely distinguish themselves from each other. The first two titles were positively received, earning a MetaCritic score of 79% and 81% respectively.

But the ratings for each sequel became noticeably lower, with the last instalment receiving 63%. The last four sequels received the same assessment from virtually every critic - it's just more of the same.

If you intend to purchase the Battle Network collection, be warned. It's not going to feel like you're playing six games - it's going to feel like you're playing the same game six times.
