10 Video Games Where YOU Die At The End
4. Halo: Reach
2010s Halo: Reach was the fifth instalment in the beloved Halo franchise, serving as a prequel to the original title Halo: Combat Evolved.
This gave Reach the breathing space it needed to tell a fresh, engaging story.
Playing as super soldier Noble Six, the player finds themselves on the besieged human colony planet Reach.
Locked in bloody warfare with the alien Covenant, Six witnesses his squad mate Jorge sacrifice himself to destroy a Covenant corvette, just prior to the full scale invasion of the planet by the alien forces.
Fighting off the invading hordes using signature Halo weapons and tactics, Six was instrumental in evacuating the citizens of New Alexandria before departing on daring missions with his fellow Spartans to turn the tide of war.
Allowing his comrades to escape on the ship Pillar of Autumn, Six stays behind to take down an Covenant battle cruiser. The 'Autumn escapes Reach and comes across a Halo ring-world, buttressing nicely with the original Halo, Star Wars style.
The post credits section puts the player in Six's shoes once more, as he holds his ground against the Covenant masses; a heroic last stand while his friends flee to safety.
Overwhelmed by sheer numbers, Six is finally defeated and killed.
