5. Slender: The Arrival

In Slender: The Arrival, the player assumes the role of Lauren who, upon discovering that her friend Kate was recently attacked, sets out to help.

Pulling up to Kate's house, Lauren finds that all is eerily dark and quiet - a good start in a survival horror game.

Entering the house, she finds it abandoned and in disarray, with disturbing and foreboding images of a thin, not-quite-human looking spectre scratched and scribbled onto the walls.

Hearing a blood curdling scream from the approximate direction of the old woods (obviously...), Lauren heads within to find her missing mate, and that's when things take a bit of a turn.

With flashlight in hand, Lauren must search the woods for not only Kate, but for the eight notes scattered throughout, which will help her piece together this alarming puzzle.

Dogged at every turn by a mysterious, slender figure in the distance, Lauren is up against more than just the clock.

Venture too close to this ghoul and Lauren dies by his spindly hands, but by avoiding him and completing the game, Lauren is killed regardless.

Hearing Kate crying, Lauren races to find her and, by this scene's end, we see immobile, obviously deceased legs being dragged across the floor...
