The thirteenth entry in the Fire Emblem series follows the same tactical role-play elements of the previous games in the series, but with a few small differences that make this permadeath game pretty tragic.

Awakening has a system where, the closer each character becomes with the player, the more effective they become in battle. This encourages you to build friendships and develop favourite companions to take along with you. Best friends can defeat foes together, and even fall in love, marry and have children.
