10 Video Games With RUTHLESS Online Multiplayer

3. ARMA 3

Call of Duty Modern Warfare
Bohemia Interactive

While the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield may hold regular pro tournaments year after year, there's a more realistic and hardcore challenger that holds firm in the PC space. ARMA 3 from Bohemia Interactive stands as the latest and arguably most realistic depiction of military warfare, taking place across a massive open-world map.

It all feels fairly unofficial when compared to other shooters as it lacks dedicated game modes and instead features straightforward combat in its setting. On top of this, there's no player limit in the online servers, meaning you could find yourself with countless enemy combatants to deal with.

Typically, online play demands a serious attitude to the match and constant communication between teammates. With a focus on spotting and relaying information between players, it's all too easy to make a wrong move and end up taking your teammates out instead if you're not careful. The more realistic style of play makes for an unforgiving and unpredictable experience that's severely punishing for those who haven't been playing the game for very long. The multiple content updates since the title's 2013 release have continued to expand the game. It's not a persistent multiplayer career, but ARMA 3 is a tricky mode to get into.
