10 Video Games You Can Never Finish

4. Some Copies Of Silent Hill: Homecoming Have Unwinnable Boss QTEs

During Silent Hill: Homecoming's boss fight against Scarlet, players have to successfully complete a quick-time event (QTE) in order to move onto the next phase of the fight.

Within hours of the game's release, players went online to complain that the QTE wasn't responding to the player's correct inputs, and it soon emerged that some copies of the game had shipped with a bug that refused to acknowledge button presses during this scene.

As a result, players were unable to progress any further, and their shiny new copy of Silent Hill: Homecoming had just become their shiny new frisbee or drinks coaster.

We couldn't find any information about Konami shipping out new copies to appease affected players, which perhaps speaks more to the game's commercial failure than anything, selling less than 400,000 copies worldwide compared to the original game's estimated 1.6 million. Oof.
