10 Video Games You Won't Believe Got REJECTED
2. Sadness
A game which had stylistic flair and the potential to become a classic for the Wii, squandered by a development studio with a big mouth and slow hands. A really big mouth, mind you. Nibris made lots of promises and told us about all kinds of awesome premises that any horror fan would jump at the sight of.
From released content and statements, we know that Sadness would use a black and white graphical style and focus on gothic, psychological horror. It would also have capitalised on the scary nature of medical conditions such as fear of the dark, schizophrenia and paranoia. These all make up for a great foundation of a horror game. Not to mention, this was way before the release of either Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Outlast.
Sure, it was on the Wii but that’s more reason that it could have shaken things up. However, due to the only footage being a teaser trailer and developer Nibris’ inability to meet deadlines or produce any other content, fans were concerned. Was this project cancelled, or did its production only go as far as the developer's hollow claims?
