10 Video Games You Won't Believe Share The Same Universe

8. Assassin's Creed And Watch Dogs

Just Cause/Sleeping Dogs

Given how both Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs tell stories of secretive groups fighting against huge, oppressive enterprises, it makes sense that the two titles would be somehow connected to each other. Well, a small Easter egg in Assassin's Creed IV does just that.

The game's present-day sections take place in the headquarters of Abstergo Entertainment, a Templar-run company that is developing a gaming console version of the Animus project. When the player isn't busy testing the device, they can instead roam the offices of Abstergo and discover some secrets in the process.

By hacking one of the computers in the office, the player can access a message containing a presentation from the Blume Corporation, the main antagonists of the Watch Dogs series. The presentation concerns their newest product, called ctOS, an operating system that is capable of linking all electronic devices in a metropolitan region. This is again a reference to the same system installed in Chicago in Watch Dogs.

While this message is mostly a small nod to the first Watch Dogs game, the connection it establishes between the two games makes a lot of sense. It fits perfectly with the Templars' scheme of total control.
