Armageddon, an industrial world that is the lynch pin of an entire system, has come under siege by the greenskin menace. Now normally if the orks invade a world the Imperium may send a token resistance force as they prepare counter attacks and better defenses on other nearby planets. Due to its industrial output, however, if Armageddon falls entire systems will fall.

With the initial planetary defense being handled by the incompetent Planetary Governor Herman von Strab the Orks made quick progress, taking hive city after hive city. One of the greatest human heroes in the 40k universe took command of the defense of Hades Hive, Commissar Sebasitan Yarrick. Yarrick managed to counter every greenskin offensive. In one particularly cunning Ork attack Yarrick was engaged personally by an Ork Warlord who managed to cut off the Commissar's arm. While the Warlord lowered his guard Yarrick rose up and parted the ork's head from his shoulders.

Yarrik would have the ork's Power Klaw grafted in place on his own arm and his eye repleaced with a glowing red augmetic. After this many orks viewed Yarrick with superstitious fear. After being reinforced with Space Marines, who in a rare instance yielded to his mortal leadership Yarrick purged the planet of the greenskin threat and would go on to chase them into the stars.
