10 Ways Sony Could Ruin The PS5
3. Failing To Match The Graphical Power Of The Xbox Scarlett
One of the key trump cards going into this generation was that Sony's console was more powerful than Microsoft's. For the first year or so, the merits of each machine were valued by whether or not they could display games in full 1080p, which the Xbox One often struggled to achieve.
The company turned that around entirely (albeit too far down the line) with the Xbox One X, which Microsoft proudly claimed to be "the world's most powerful console". Underpowering their next machine like the original One isn't a mistake they're going to make twice, and almost all the rumours suggest that the Xbox Scarlett's specs already eclipse the PS5's.
The current generation was instantly accused of being a small jump up in raw power, and Sony need to prove that enough has changed if they want players to get in on the next-gen early. They can't end up in the same position Microsoft were in in 2013, losing easy headlines over resolution and frame rates.
