10 Ways Star Wars Battlefront Is Far Better Than You Think
4. Huge-Scale Maps
The maps are few, but the maps are exquisitely handled. That IS Hoth, the same Hoth that we saw in Empire Strikes Back (the best Star Wars film, am I right?), the same Hoth that you dreamed about zipping around in a snowspeeder for years as a kid. It's been beautifully crafted to feel as real as possible, with the trenches stretching wide and the map sprawling into the distance. The backdrop connects seamlessly with the area you're allowed to trek in, with combat limits enforced to provide invisible guidelines which keep you in bounds without feeling like you're enclosed in a small zone. There's a good balance in Battlefront, with it coming as the middle ground to Call of Duty's claustrophobic death pits and Battlefield's maps where the minutes can pass without seeing another soul. Battlefront is large enough to feel like you're in a grand war, without fear of being immediately knifed in the face or ever being too far away from the battle - only to get kicked back to a respawn screen anyway.
