10 Ways The Nintendo Switch Is Better Than PS4 & Xbox One
6. Suspend & Resume In Seconds
Speaking of features that were advertised, it would take Sony over a year to add the 'suspend and resume' feature that was originally part of the PS4's sales pitch. The Xbox One was supposed to have voice-activated resume functionality too, though the complete hatred of the Kinect put that to bed very quickly.
Both systems do feature the ability to 'suspend' your game and keep the system in a low power state, but the Switch does so FAR faster.
Down to games loading off cartridges and the Switch's Tegra processor (ostensibly an ultra powerful piece of mobile phone tech), the Switch kicks back into life at the speed of turning your phone's screen back on. Its 'low power state' is akin to a phone being locked, giving the whole process a much more natural and immediate ease of use.
Basically, it feels as though the Switch was designed with this functionality in mind, rather than having it awkwardly patched in or malformed into reality after a necessary component was removed.
