Space Giraffe is heavily inspired by classic Atari shooter Tempest, although it more closely resembles a drug-induced nightmare. The screen is filled with clashing colours, bizarre phrases like "Giraffetastic!" and flashing lights, making it extremely hard for the uninitiated to understand what's going on. This Xbox Live Arcade release is clearly a tongue-in-cheek parody of the Japanese imports of the 80s, as indicated by the final message that announces, "CONGRATURATION! YOU SUCCESS! A WINNER IS YOU!" It's actually a pretty solid game if you can get over the crazy imagery, which most games journalists sadly couldn't.
