10 Well-Known Gaming 'Facts' That Are Actually Bulls**t

2. Skarlet And Ermac Were Playable In Mortal Kombat II

It's no secret that, despite Mortal Kombat X hitting a little left of the mark in 2015, NetherRealm/Midway have previously been spot-on when it comes to fan-service. Amongst others like Reptile and the "Toasty guy" that would get their due further down the line, Skarlet and Ermac both originated in the first two Mortal Kombat games as rumours and talked-about inclusions. Skarlet's appearance came as a skin-swap glitch on the Kitana model that turned her costume red, sprouting unverifiable information that carried forward for years, and Ermac - a character responsible for the most revolting Fatality so far in MK X - was a palette-swap of Scorpion, again changing his yellow suit to red when a random glitch with the words "Error Macro" appeared onscreen. In the end it would be Ultimate MK 3 where Ermac finally became a reality, whereas Skarlet didn't see an official incarnation until 2011's reboot-styled ninth instalment; the best in series so far simply titled Mortal Kombat.
