10 Worst Launch Lineups In Gaming History

9. Wii U

Notable Launch Games: ZombieU New Super Mario Bros. U Nintendo Land Just Dance 4 While the Nintendo Wii didn't exactly have a launch lineup that immediately showcased the full potential of the system, it did feature one of the most popular games of all time (Wii Sports) as well as a Legend of Zelda classic in Twilight Princess. As such, it's hard to not consider it a successful introduction to the capabilities of the Wii. The Wii U is a different story. The only Wii U launch games that really aimed to take advantage of the console's tablet controller were the interesting but flawed ZombiU and the good but uninspiring New Super Mario Bros. U. The rest of the lineup was largely made of 3rd party ports of varying quality. Even the better ports such as Arkham City were almost universally agreed to be weakest on the Wii U due to the system's inferior technological capabilities. What what most certainly missing was a game like Wii Sports that instantly made players realize that they had purchased something with the potential to provide a uniquely entertaining gaming experience. The Wii U would most certainly prove to be that in the coming years, but those who invested early in the console were left with little to show for it.
