10 Worst Levels In Super Mario History
5. World 6-5 - Super Mario Bros. 3
At first, World 6-5 seems like any other course in Super Mario Bros. 3. You start on the left and work your way through the blocks and enemies to reach the goal on the very right.
But when you enter the pipe at the end, it transports you back to the beginning. Wait... what? Where the hell do you go?
What you need to do is turn into Raccoon Mario, grab a Koopa Shell, run at top speed, jump, fly to a secret passage above, drop the shell at the wall on the right to destroy the blocks on a hidden ledge, and then enter the pipe to reach the goal.
The hardest part is to pick up enough speed to fly while dodging enemies who are chucking ice blocks at you. If the baddies hit you, you lose the Raccoon Power-Up. No big deal, right? You can just get it again.
But the block that contains the Raccoon Power-Up doesn't respawn. If you get hit once after turning into Raccoon Mario, you can't fly, meaning you can't complete the level. When this happens, you have no choice but to let the enemies kill you, and try again from the start.
