10 Worst Levels In Super Mario History
3. Paddle Battle - Mario Party
Some levels are so hard, they are painful... and I mean literally. In Mario Party, all the players must partake in a series of mini-games. There are a diverse amount of mini-games which test your reflexes, memory, precision, or teamwork.
However, some games test your ability to play while the skin on your hand is being slowly ripped off. For the mini-game, Paddle Battle, players have to row their boat by quickly spinning the control stick.
One player has to paddle on the left while three players paddle on the right. If the vessel comes too close to one side, a Shy Guy will appear and stab the nearest player, making them lose coins.
Because the single player is far less likely to win, some players developed a strategy where they placed the control stick in the centre of their palm and rapidly moved their hand around.
Although this is an effective tactic, it had a habit of tearing the skin off the player's hand (myself included). This became such a recurring problem that Nintendo released free gloves for Mario Party 2, costing the company $80 million.
