10 Worst Triple-A Games Of The Decade (So Far)
5. Forspoken
Square Enix's action-RPG Forspoken didn't exactly enter this world with a running start, given that it was relentlessly ribbed pre-release for the woefully corny dialogue freely shown off by the publisher.
And the situation didn't much improve when the game actually came out.
Even with Square Enix's incredible Luminous Engine doing the heavy technical lifting, Forspoken's world of Athia was a bland nothingburger to explore, unaided by a dire, wildly overlong prologue sure to leave you yawning before the world even really opened up.
Protagonist Frey isn't great, the dialogue is worse, the combat gets boring quickly, and even the not-bad traversal wears out its welcome after a while.
This is generic as fantasy action games come, almost entirely lacking in personality while attempting to paper over its boring gameplay with pretty visuals. Depressingly, it might also be the closest-to-competent game on this list.
