10 Worst Video Game Bosses Ever

1. The Destroyer - Borderlands (2009)

Arkham knight Deathstroke
2K Games

With its mix of vibrant art design, wacky characters, and wide assortment of weapons, Borderlands proved itself as a fantastically fun and delightfully funny shooter with more personality and charm than most games can only dream of having.

The game centres around the Vault Hunter's quest to (as their title suggests) hunt down the legendary and mysterious vault on the planet Pandora. The snappy writing and variety of weapons keep this simple plot engaging right until the end. However, it’s at this point where things go horribly wrong.

Upon chasing down the main antagonist to the Vault’s location, the stage is set for the final confrontation. But before the action gets underway, the villain is immediately killed by a gigantic monster that emerges from the Vault. A surprise final boss isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though The Destroyer was the least interesting finale conceivable.

Remaining in the same spot while half-heartedly flailing its tentacles., all it takes to defeat The Destroyer is standing behind a rock and hitting its weak points until its health finally reaches zero. But with its enormous health bar, this fight stops being fun long before that happens.

The only thing this boss tests is your patience.
