10 Worst Video Game Bosses Ever

8. Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis (2020)

Following the phenomenal remake of Resident Evil 2, Resi fans were eagerly awaiting Resident Evil 3: Nemesis to get the same treatment. And while Jill Valentine’s outing in Raccoon City was a visually impressive reworking of the classic game that implemented a handful of modern tweaks, this remake fell short of the mark for two main reasons.

The first was its astronomically short campaign which could see Jill’s action-packed story wrap up in around six hours. The second was the final encounter with Nemesis, which ended the brisk game on a sour note.

Much like Mr X stalked Leon and Claire throughout the predecessor, this game sees Jill hunted by the formidable Nemesis. Appearing for an intense set piece or challenging boss battle, Nemesis was a formidable presence which underscored the game’s key moments.

And then the finale happened.

Before Jill can escape the city, she must face Nemesis one final time. However, this fight is as lazy and unimaginative as it gets. All that needs to be done is hit the now fleshy, gelatinous blob with a railgun three times, re-powering the weapon by activating generators around the room.

After every previous encounter, this wasn’t the climactic showdown we hoped for.
