One of the best features of the Arkham series was its rogues’ gallery of villains for Batman to go up against. From formidable adversaries like Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Two Face to lesser-known villains including Mad Hatter and Man-Bat, the diverse list of enemies made for some interesting and unique encounters as well as some gripping side quests.

Out of this extensive list, a standout showdown centred around the world’s greatest detective and deadly mercenary Deathstroke in the criminally underrated Arkham Origins. It was a fast-paced, cinematic battle that was genuinely fun to play.

When Deathstroke made his next appearance in Arkham Knight, fans were eager for what should have been an exhilarating rematch.

This was far from the case; and there was one main reason for this: the Batmobile.

After jumping through several hoops and disarming even more mines, it was finally time to meet Deathstroke in battle. Unfortunately, this fight was yet another slow-paced tank brawl in which players had to hit a weak point on his vehicle.

It was as anticlimactic as it sounds. And when Deathstroke does appear in the flesh, he gets taken out with one punch in a cinematic.

At least we'll always have Arkham Origins.
