1. Perfect Dark Zero
Is it just a coincidence that the top two entries in this list have the word "Zero" in their title? Who knows. What we do know is that Perfect Dark Zero was a hugely dispiriting follow-up to one of the best FPS games of its era, following closely behind Rare's revolutionary Goldeneye. It had a loopy, futuristic sci-fi plot, and most importantly, a massively addictive multiplayer offering, neither of which were met by Rare's hugely-anticipated Xbox 360 sequel. Rare clearly had to step their game up to compete with how the FPS landscape had changed since the first game's release, but in light of FPS behemoths like Halo, Perfect Dark Zero just felt incredibly dated and not at all akin to the masterful first game in the series. It felt like Rare just couldn't cope with the enormity of a) delivering a great follow-up to their classic game and b) broaching the very different FPS landscape, resulting in this massive let down of a game that's now pretty much faded into obscurity.
