10 Worst Video Game Sequels Of All Time

Driv3r is a notorious sequel to the hugely enjoyable first two driving games (especially the first), not only because it was terrible, but because of the uncovering of a scandal in which Atari essentially bribed several video game magazines to give the game a 9/10, whereas the most scrupulous publications gave it an average of about 3/10. Given how cinematic and thrilling the first two games were, Reflections' effort with the third game was very poor indeed, trying to make the most of casting Michael Madsen, and really, that's pretty much the only appealing thing in the entire game. On-foot gameplay has never been Driver's strong suit, and here is where it offends worst; we spend far, far too much of the game outside of the car, shooting enemies with horrendous aiming and combat mechanics, and basically just not putting the pedal-to-the-metal as the series' best iterations focused on. For a game with the word "drive" (or rather, "driv3") in the title, there's a curious poverty of it; Reflections clearly had ambitions that they weren't the least bit prepared to live up to, and the result is this terrible mess of a game that stands as one of the most catastrophically inept video game sequels of all time. Thankfully, the more recent games have been a vast improvement, not that it was exactly difficult...
