10 Worst Video Games Of 2023 (So Far)

2. The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

The odds were stacked against Lord of the Rings: Gollum long before it was released. Even though Gollum is iconic, it's odd how Daedalic Entertainment decided to centre a game around the skulking stoor. Not only is the formally known Sméagol unlikable and disgusting, his mission is guaranteed to end in failure. And considering the hideous hobbit spent centuries in a cave eating raw fish, there's not much that can be done with the character without contradicting the lore.

And that's just the concept. We haven't gotten to the game yet! Because of the PS2-like graphics and the unimpressive promos, LOTR: Gollum was expected to be a dud.

However, nobody anticipated this Tolkien adaptation to fail this badly. Critics had to delay their reviews, since they couldn't play the game without it crashing!

After receiving its first-day patch, this unnecessary IP was still barely playable.

Gameplay is permanently stiff, making it seem like the whole thing could crash at any given moment. Due to atrocious camera movement, relentless bugs, poor pacing, tedious fetch-quests, janky animations, and laughable death animations, this abomination should've been cast into the fires of Mt. Doom long ago.
