100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil

64. Bike Lore

One of Claire Redfield's defining traits is her love of engineering and, specifically, motorbikes. So, when working on Resident Evil 2 remake it was important to get it right. Claire's bike is modelled on an existing vehicle of the era, the brand-new 1998 Harley Davison NightTrain.

In an interview with Famitsu on the lead up to the game, the staff remarked that they actually worked with Harley Davison. The bike manufacturer sent them over reference photos as well as sound samples. It's unknown if the studio's sound team used these sounds directly or produced something that matched it.

But that wasn't Capcom's first collaboration with a bike company, as there was a working relationship just before in 2017 between the Resident Evil Vendetta team and Ducati. Towards the climax of the movie, Leon rides a Ducati XDiavel across a New York highway and then, in a moment of hilarious ridiculousness, inside a building (presumably to maximise screen-time).
