100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil

With some puzzles in Resident Evil being solved or made clearer by the player "examining" items in their inventory, it's ingrained in some to inspect every little thing they pick up. It turns out that if you study the magnums across the RE series in particular, you find some weird stuff.

The magnum found in Resident Evil Zero features, of all things, the Unicorn Medal from RE2 on it purely as decoration. Clever reuse of assets, perhaps.

Stranger though, both revolvers that players can pick up in Resident Evil's 2002 remake feature the Umbrella crest. In the case of one, this makes sense - it is found in the Spencer Mansion, after all - but the other far less so, since it's taken from Barry during the confrontation between him and Jill and he's seen entering the mansion with it. Maybe you were right to be suspicious of him.

And finally, Barry's new magnum in Revelations 2 (and also Resident Evil 5's Mercenaries mode) is a Smith & Wesson 500 for certain because on close-ups, and in the character viewer, it's possible to see the company's logo on it.
