100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil

22. Resistance Is a Treasure Trove Of References

Resident Evil Resistance was a weird one - a 4v1 DBD-like packaged with Resident Evil 3 Remake which caught a lot of unnecessary flack as a result of being paired with that game. Additionally, limited support from Capcom meant that it was doomed to a short shelf-life.

It's hard to argue that the developers and designers who worked on the game didn't clearly love the series though as it's littered with fun details that pull from different parts of the series. Outbreak got multiple nods, such as Valerie implied to be the roommate of Yoko, and January writing for newspaper News Comet alongside Alyssa Ashcroft. There are various skills and rooms in the game named after legacy characters and items, too.

The Bemusement Park map specifically had a couple of amusing nods to more recent outings. If players take a moment to look at water around them, they'll find Leon's jacket floating alongside a stuffed alligator; a reference to the Gator chase in RE2 remake. Additionally, one slightly silly one is a poster for a home cleaning service proclaiming "mold, bugs, vermin, we do it all" - featuring an image of the Baker House from RE7.
