6. Star Wars: Starfighter

There was a time when flight-sims were everywhere, and what better property to take the very idea of piloting a bunch of iconic aircraft through a myriad of battles, than Star Wars?

With obvious roots in the X-Wing and Rogue Squadron series', Starfighter continued the trend of realising anyone's dream of flying the ships of the SW lore in an awesome way - except again like many Star Wars titles from the early noughties, it was inspired by the newer films rather than the originals.

Still gameplay was very satisfying, with every pop, zip and whizz of blaster-fire flying past your head as the likes of R2-D2 blipped away behind in certain ships. Although in Phantom Menace when Anakin takes to the skies it's a total cringe-fest, here diving into something like the N-1 Starfighter and taking apart an enemy fleet was every bit the laser-light show it should've been.
