11 Bold Predictions About Gaming In 2016

2. Criterion's New Burnout Is The Next Rocket League

We've had Need for Speed in a whole bunch of different forms, and we've had the spectacular Rocket League prove everyone under the sun can enjoy a good vehicle-based multiplayer game, so what better time is there to usher in the return of the finest arcade racing series of all time? Burnout and 60 frames-per-second resolutions go together like Stephanie Joosten and sex appeal, and as we've seen with Halo 5's liquid-smooth gameplay on Xbox One, the newest consoles are capable of running things just as fast as on PC. The series' easily-accessible - yet endlessly fun - gameplay would be a perfect fit for either entire afternoons of tearing up the tarmac or dropping in for a few quick games with your friends. It's a sublime casual racer just begging for a new-age update, and although Criterion are confirmed to be working on some sort of all-terrain vehicle mashup, ensuring the on-road segments are lightning fast and feel like old-school Burnout would be phenomenal.
