11 Fantasy Premier League Players You Must Steer Clear Of
1. Odion Ighalo (Watford) - £7.5
If reports are to be believed, Watford rejected a bid of £38 million from Shanghai SIPG for Odion Ighalo this summer.
As if turning down in excess of £25 million for Troy Deeney wasn’t financially criminal enough, to spurn the opportunity to bolster their bank balance by cashing in on such an inconsistent player as Ighalo in such a manner is simply madness.
For a few months, Ighalo was a must-have in every Fantasy League team having netted 13 goals before the turn of the year. Atletico Madrid and Manchester United were among the potential suitors rumoured to be taking a look at him in January. And then, everything dried up. Quique Sanchez Flores’ side took a wobble and the formerly prolific hitman suffered a crisis in confidence, failing to find the net in 599 consecutive minutes.
Since 2015, the Nigerian has registered just two goals, with Watford fans growing steadily impatient with a man who used to be able to bang them in with his eyes closed. This is not the sort of form you want for a player heading into a new season, and priced at £7.5, it’s better to look elsewhere.
