11 Former Wii U Exclusives The Nintendo Switch Can Save
2. Super Mario 3D World
SM3DW has a ton of positives going for it: Nostalgic character choices of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad, great level design, a superb soundtrack and the cat power-up. But what really makes this perfect for Switch is the multiplayer.
With 2 Joy-Cons ready to go and no split-screen because of the ‘bubble’ system when you get separated, SM3DW would no doubt be a big hit with Switch gamers. Nintendo could offer local wireless for 4 player action to really sweeten the deal and to avoid the issue where players need a set of 2 Joy-Cons to fully participate as is the case with LEGO City and Arms.
This could even go the route of Hyrule Warriors and pack in Super Mario 3D Land’s levels, too - much like the forthcoming "Definitive Edition" of that game. Players could get essentially double the game for the price of one: although this would depend on how well the 3DS levels can upscale from one portable to the other.
Let's be fair though, if Shadow of the Colossus can be remastered twice over and look spectacular, surely there's hope for 3DS to Switch conversions?
