11 Most Surprisingly Awesome Video Games Of 2017 (So Far)

9. Batman: The Enemy Within - Episode 1

After last year's Batman: The Telltale Series was a buggy, glitchy mess upon release, it wasn't unreasonable that most fans had pretty low expectations for the recently-released sequel, The Enemy Within, but lo and behold, the notoriously careless developers actually bothered to tighten things up.

Yes, the game could certainly look better and Telltale is still horrendously stubborn when it comes to ditching their woefully outdated engine, but the first episode not only runs well across platforms, but is actually the most substantial and entertaining of all six Telltale Batman episodes to date.

The Caped Crusader's clash with The Riddler clocks in at well over two hours, is packed with diverse action, a slew of enjoyable performances and two devilish plot twists sure to keep fans on tenterhooks for episode two.

Considering how quickly this was assembled, it's truly impressive and surprising that it ended up being one of Telltale's best episodic adventures of the last few years.
