11 Terrible Video Game Collectibles That Were A Waste Of Time

9. Riddler Trophies - Arkham Knight

Arkham Asylum did collectibles right. The Riddler, wanting to challenge Batman's mental fortitude, hides numerous trophies and riddles around the eponymous facility. If the player finds them all, they're treated to a satisfying soundbite of Riddler being caught by Gotham's Finest. Hooray!

Arkham City went a little overboard on the trophies but included fun new challenges like interrogating criminals for their locations and providing Catwoman-only trophies.

Going into Arkham Knight, players may get bored of all these glowing green question marks across three islands. But there's a nasty surprise at the end of the game if the player decides not to search for Enigma's awards. To unlock the true ending of the game, you have to capture all the criminals. Yes, including The Riddler himself.

It's a massive slog, which involves a tedious Riddler boss battle. Oh, and don't even get me started on the miles of insanely difficult race tracks The Riddler has somehow set up for Batman under Gotham's streets.
