11 Unannounced 2014 Gaming Sequels That Will Sell Millions
7. The Legend Of Zelda For Wii U
Of course, Mario isn't Nintendo's only dependable creation; Link and his Legend of Zelda series are arguably even more beloved by Nintendo fans. We've seen no new footage of Link since the original unveiling of the Wii U back in 2011 (and even then, it was just a snapshot of him fighting a monster) but we know that a Zelda game is in development, with a full announcement expected at E3. What's particularly exciting about a new Zelda title is Nintendo's tendency to experiment with the series; while the plot and characters remain largely the same, each title throws up new and interesting gameplay additions. For example, Skyward Sword took advantage of the Wii's MotionPlus controls to offer a unique, sword waving experience which played a role in the game's combat and puzzles. With the Wii U's touchpad, there's a lot of potential for Nintendo to play around with the Zelda formula and produce something unique and fun. If all else fails in the preparations for E3, Nintendo could just showcase a section of the game where you ride Epona around Hyrule Field in glorious high definition it would be a cheap nostalgic trick but admit it, we'd all be suckered in again.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
