Level-5

Retaining the gorgeous anime art style that made the original game such a joy to play, the sequel to the first Ni No Kuni, Revenant Kingdom, is finally releasing in 2018 after an excruciatingly long wait.

The first game in the whimsical RPG series was already one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2013, and with a groundswell of support and fan anticipation reaching every corner of the internet in the meantime, the sequel has become a genuine shoe-in to be the breakout hit of next year.

Unfortunately though, unlike the original game, Revenant Kingdom isn't being made with the same direct influence from Studio Ghibli, as only a few core members of that team have returned for the sequel.

Still, early previews suggest the developers have managed to replicate the heart and soul of Ghibli's signature style, hopefully making for a title as gut-wrenching and unique as Ni No Kuni was back in 2013.
