11 Video Games With Severely Underused Secondary Characters

9. Nihlus Kryik - Mass Effect

In case you're having trouble remembering who Nihlus is, take a nostalgia trip back to your play-throughs of the original Mass Effect. Kryik is one of the most decorated Spectres ever to live in the ME universe. Although ruthless, he was also a great tactician and an even better soldier. His own story is possibly worthier of a game than that of our protagonist. He had completed countless missions as a Spectre, each and every one of them more dangerous than the last one was. One of his most important abilities was that of subterfuge, as he primarily worked alone. Nihlus is the game protagonist material if there ever was one. Imagine a stealth shooter in the Mass Effect universe. Had Saren not ended his life at the beginning of the Mass Effect saga, Nihlus would have became a mentor to Shepard. This character has always been the greatest tragedy of my early ME experience. A great, vast story in the making being cut down right at the start. So here's hoping that the next ME game stars Nihlus Kryik as our protagonist.
