11 Video Games That Have Already Been Delayed In 2021

Despite a swanky unveiling last year, the next-gen Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy received a swift delay in January that's pushed the release date back a full year to 2022.

Strangely enough, no real reason was given as to why the title had been delayed only a few months after being announced in September 2020. The official statement was short, and simply read that the project would get "the time it needs" to live up to fan expectations.

It's been a bumpy ride for the blockbuster adaptation, with the project being marred in controversy ever since its announcement, first due to the accusations of transphobia levelled at Harry Potter creator J.K Rowling last year.

More recently the game's creative director has also come under fire after YouTube videos of his started circulating online (one titled "In Defense of John Lasseter" was released after sexual harassment allegations were levelled at the former Disney animation boss), which resulted in discussion of the title being banned entirely on gaming forum ResetEra.

With the game now dated for 2022, it's going to be a long year for Hogwarts Legacy.
