Rocket League took the world by storm when it was released in 2015. The automobile/ gravity-defying football hybrid gameplay at first sounds confusing and, well frankly, terrible. But in practice, Rocket League is a hugely addictive, funny and enjoyable experience. What makes Rocket League stand out even further is the game's very high mechanical ceiling and e-Sports credentials.

For the average player, driving around and knocking in goals is a fun experience, especially when playing couch co-op. For those that want to take Rocket League to the next level, the game allows for incredibly technical and difficult manoeuvres to gain an advantage over an opponent.

Whereas the average player would simply try to tap the ball into the net, a professional player could use the speed boosts and environment to perfectly time an aerial flip to knock the ball in when you least expect it. It's this level of proficiency that makes Rocket League so addictive to watch as well as play.

The ability to interpret a match, the angles and the trajectory of a jump, takes hours to master. But if you are willing to put the time in you can pull off those awe-inspiring moves players are least expecting.
