11 Video Games You Won't Believe Are Almost 20 Years Old
2. Heroes Of Might And Magic
Along with 1994's very first Elder Scrolls title Arena, Heroes of Might and Magic would provide the other quintessential pillar to gaming's fantasy foundation, mixing a staggering amount of genres together in a gorgeously realised package. From turn-based RPG battles to wider real-time strategy elements and base-building mechanics, any one of these is the sort of thing that these days mobile-powerhouses like Clash of Clans deliver in their most threadbare form - but here was both original and incredibly influential thanks to some immaculately addictive gameplay. It's still going strong now too with part seven listed on Ubisoft's slate for next year, so if you happen to like the look of the above screen but would rather it had a bit more oomph than a mobile title, check that one out.
